Recently I spoke at the Lancaster Society Human Resource Management Diversity and Inclusion Conference. My colleague Nicole and I drove from the office, it was a two and a half hour ride down and back to Washington. After getting to the hotel Nicole and I had a working dinner going over my notes for my presentation the following day.
Tuesday morning, I was getting ready to present for the National Down Syndrome Society. I shared my personal story on becoming the first federal registered lobbyist with Down Syndrome. I also mentioned our current work on some of our program pillars for NDSS.
When returning to the office on Tuesday I started prepping for some filming the next day for a commercial for Society Human Resource Management. That day was pretty awesome, they took some footage of me and my job. This commercial is going out to human resource managers to ask them to hire those of us with Down syndrome. This is a great thing for those of us with Down syndrome!
