NDSS Capitol Hill Virtual Impact Event

Published on

Join us for an event that brings the Down syndrome community together to advocate for legislative priorities that directly impact the lives of people with Down syndrome and their families.

What can you expect? Join us for advocacy training to prepare advocates to meet with Members of Congress and their staff to discuss legislative issues that would advance health care and research, education, economic self-sufficiency, employment and community integration for people with Down syndrome.

  • The first half of the training discusses our federal legislative priorities that you will be talking to your elected officials and their staff about during your meeting. This is mandatory for anyone who will be meeting with their legislators.
  • The second half of the training is an optional state advocacy training where you will learn about NDSS state legislative priorities.

Training for State Captains and the Advocacy Training will take place in September. Your meetings will be scheduled throughout the month of October.
