The Congressional Task Force on Down Syndrome:

  • Holds informational events for Members of Congress and their staff to increase awareness about Down syndrome
  • Ensures Down syndrome is adequately addressed in all relevant legislation and regulations
  • Works with national and local Down syndrome groups to develop educational, medical and employment-related initiatives that support and expand opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome
  • Identifies and works to remove barriers in the law for people with intellectual disabilities
  • Strives to build the Congressional Task Force on Down Syndrome into a sustainable, dynamic political force and information clearinghouse by increasing membership and activities

 

Take Action

If your Representative and Senators are not members of the Congressional Task Force on Down Syndrome, please contact them and ask them to join. Members of Congress who want to join should contact Megan Perez in Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ office and Kyle Christian in Senator Jerry Moran’s office. If your Representative and Senators are members of the Congressional Task Force on Down Syndrome, please thank them and consider thanking them on social media using the hashtag #DSTaskForce.
