Team NDSS LogoThank you for your interest in the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) Athlete Ambassador Team.  With your support, we will foster an inclusive community of like-minded individuals and athletes with a passion for helping local communities and the Down syndrome community live healthier.  NDSS envisions a world in which all people with Down syndrome have the opportunity to enhance their quality of life, realize their life aspirations and become valued members of welcoming communities.  Your role as an Athlete Ambassador can help make this vision a reality by being Authentic, Passionate and Active.

Our Athlete Ambassadors are highly motivated, enthusiastic self-starters who are good advocates of NDSS through their daily lives, sport, wellness and community involvement.

Our Athlete Ambassadors are passionate about their sport and sharing the mission of NDSS.

Athlete Ambassadors are active in their community, whether through local sports clubs, social media groups, disability organizations, local Down syndrome affiliates, professional arenas or other circles of influence.

Anyone can join!  Anyone, meaning YOU! NDSS Athlete Ambassador Team is open to anyone age 18 and over no matter where you live. Athlete Ambassadors are parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, neighbors, friends, teachers, community leaders and self advocates!

What if I miss the registration or I can’t secure an Athlete Ambassador Team spot in time?
It will not be easy to close registration after our maximum capacity has been reached, and we understand there will be some disappointment of people who want to be part of this program.  In order to have a successful team and manage the program right the first year, we must put a cap on the number of Athlete Ambassadors.  However, we will assess and open additional slots throughout the year if possible.
