NDSS is proud to partner with the Music Initiative, which provides music activities for those with special needs. The Music Initiative Guidebook Series are based on the tenets of music therapy as defined by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA).
The Music Initiative was designed by Erin Haley who is a board-certified music therapist. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Music from California State University, Chico, and her Masters degree in Music Therapy from University of the Pacific, in Stockton, California. She has completed training in Neurologic Music Therapy in Denver, Colorado. Prior to college, she earned a Musical Theatre Conservatory certificate of completion from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, in New York.
She is currently a program director and music therapist at Arts and Services for Disabled, Inc. based in Long Beach, California. In her down time she enjoys playing guitar and singing in her band, Blue Comet.
