The National Down Syndrome Society is pleased to partner with Furnace Hills Coffee to bring you our line of Buddy Walk® coffee. We currently offer a Buddy Walk® Medium Blend and a Buddy Walk® Decaf Roast. This coffee is roasted in the Furnace Hills of Maryland by their chief roaster, Erin Baldwin, who has Down syndrome.
The mission of Furnace Hills Coffee is to bring out the unique qualities inherent in each coffee bean. They do this by taking a small-batch artisan approach to all of their specialty coffees. The use of automation or computers during the roast process is not practiced; instead each batch is carefully roasted to perfection using smell, sight, sound, touch, and taste. Furnace Hills Coffee is always searching for the best direct trade coffee beans available.
Buddy Walk® coffee sells for $14 a pound and Furnace Hills Coffee will be donating $6 per bag to the National Down Syndrome Society or the local Buddy Walk® organization. Sales through the link on the NDSS website will benefit the National Down Syndrome Society, while sales coming through a local Buddy Walk® organization's website will benefit that local Buddy Walk®.
