Sprout Restaurant

In the spirit of the holidays, Sprout Restaurant in Chicago, IL held a charity-themed Sunday Dinner on December 16.  Sprout is known for playful takes on classics and exceptional local and seasonal ingredients.

Sprout donated a portion of all sales from the evening to NDSS and the majority of the guests who dined with them that evening also chose to make a donation, totaling over $1,000.  The Sunday Dinner event included a sparkling wine reception, hors d’oeuvres, a selection of cocktails and a four-course dinner.

Chef Dale Levitski, runner up of season three of “Top Chef”, and Chef de Cuisine Jeffrey Sills worked tirelessly to guarantee a successful and meaningful event for all involved, from the education of their wait staff about Down syndrome and NDSS to their loyal and first-time guests dining there.  A guest chef from another acclaimed restaurant in Chicago Pastry Chef Elissa Narow (Vie and Perennial Virant) – joined the team at Sprout that night and contributed a course.

One of the guests, Jennifer Rodman, stood up and spoke about her son, Benjamin, who has Down syndrome and thanked everyone for caring about this cause and giving back.

NDSS also thanks Sprout for featuring our organization on their website as their charity partner for the Sunday Dinner and for sending a letter about the event to all of their VIP diners.  We are tremendously grateful for this partnership.
