Young Professional Events

The NDSS Young Professional Committees (YPCs) work to improve public awareness and perception of individuals with Down syndrome, focusing specifically on a younger demographic. The committees are dedicated to engaging future leaders within the Down syndrome community. Members act as ambassadors in their communities to address stereotypes and to educate the public through hosting special events to raise awareness and funds for NDSS and local projects.

Active YLCs are currently in the following cities:

  • New York, New York
  • Washington, DC

To learn more about how to get involved in one of these committees or to start one in your area, please contact Kristie Hagen, NDSS Director of Communications & Outreach at

College students looking to get involved with NDSS should check out NDSS Your Way College: On Campus. NDSS Your Way is an online program geared towards independent fundraisers interested in raising money and awareness on behalf of NDSS.
