Young Leadership Events

The NDSS Young Leadership Committees (YLCs) work to improve public awareness and perception of individuals with Down syndrome, focusing specifically on a younger demographic. The committees are dedicated to engaging future leaders within the Down syndrome community. Members act as ambassadors in their communities to address stereotypes to educate the public.

YLCs plan special events to raise awareness and funds for NDSS and local projects.  Below is more information about past events hosted by young leaders.

Active YLCs are currently in the following cities:

  • New York, New York
  • Chicago, Illinois
  • Columbus, Ohio (at Ohio State University)

To learn more about how to get involved in one of these committees or to start one in your area, please contact NDSS VP of Development Pam Sandonato at psandonato@ndss.org.
