Johnny-The Boy That Changed My Life
Johnny-The Boy That Changed My Life

I met the boy who would change my life a little over a year ago. Johnny was lying on a blanket in the middle of the floor next to his mom. As I walked into the room he flashed a smile that melted my heart. My life took an unexpected twist over the next few days as I decided to quit my job and become his nanny! It was the best and easiest decision I have ever made. I get to wake up every day excited to go to work. Johnny is the sweetest and strongest kid I know. When I see all that he has been through in his 1.5 years on this earth I am in such awe of him. Some of the greatest joy in my life comes from seeing him grow and learn new things. He works so hard at therapies and no matter what he is facing that day he always flashes his little infectious smile. When I think about Johnny, I can’t help but smile and go about my day with a good attitude. Being Johnny’s nanny has made me want to strive to be a better person. I know that a lot of people might throw this saying around but I truly mean it. Seeing him work so hard and learn new things with great amazement makes me think that I too can go out and work hard. He has made me want to get healthy and change certain things in my life. I always tell him how great and handsome he is because I want him to know that he is loved every day! Johnny’s family is just as amazing. They are the kind of people that I am glad to call my friends. From his parents and sister all the way to grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins he is loved! The fact that he has Down syndrome makes him even more special. I am so blessed to be his nanny and I thank God every day that he put such an amazing little guy in my life!

This is such a beautiful story, and Johnny is so blessed to have such a wonderful, caring and loving nanny. His parents couldn't have found a better nanny for their son.
