My sister, Jeri Caswell, is best friends with Nora, a young woman who has Down syndrome. Jeri was Nora's caseworker, her job coach, for many years. They have a wonderful friendship. Jeri has Nora stay overnight and they go to movies together, bake, go shopping, and do everything best friends do! Nora's dad has been absent her entire life; her mom recently fell and became a parapalegic. So life has many challenges for Nora, but her friendship with Jeri has endured through many years. Nora calls Jeri "bunny nana" -- and she calls me, Jeri's brother, "Koo-koo." We love Nora and the friendship she shares with Jeri is truly something special.
