Logan's Blog

My name is Katie Hudson, and I am mom to Logan James, age 3, and Maddie May, age 1. Logan was born on May 23, 2006 with Down syndrome. Of course, having children changes everyone's life, but Logan's birth had a profound impact on our many family members and friends. We had so many people rally around us and support us, it was unbelievable. That support system has not weakened once since Logan was born. Because I've had so much support I've made it my mission in life to help spread awareness about DS - to let people know, "it's not that bad." I think there are so, so many misconceptions about Down syndrome in the world that it's our job to tell the truth. So, for National Down Syndrome Awareness Month I decided to do the 31 for 21 blog challenge. However, instead of writing about Logan myself, I asked my friends and family to come up with stories about Logan and how he has changed or inspired them. Again, my friends and family came through and we have the most beautiful stories on our blog written by friends, aunts, uncles, grandparents, great aunts, cousins, etc. Please read some of these amazing stories and spread the word. Down syndrome is pretty darn great!!!
