My Daughter Crystal
My Daughter Crystal

I was only 19 when my daughter Crystal came into my life. The doctor who delivered her told me I needed to give her up because I was so young and she would be the biggest burden of my life. He told me she wouldn't be potty trained until she was about 10 years old and would never walk or talk... For about one day I was just horrified at the thought, but then another doctor came to me and told me that they are doing wonders with kids like Crystal and with early intervention and family support she can be like any other child, just at her own pace. I felt a lot better and decided that I gave birth to this beautiful little girl and she will always be mine. Crystal is now going to be 36 years old in August and has been my pride and joy for those 36 years. She potty trained at two years old, walks, talks and is the most loving human being on this planet. She is funny and smart. I wrote a letter to that doctor who almost made me want to give up this precious gift to let him know how wrong he was!
