Aleia's Story

Aleia is my second child. We did not know that Aleia might have Down syndrome until three hours after she was born. After she was born and the doctors had done the usual examination that they do on newborns they realized she could have Down syndrome. They had ran tests on her and about a week later it was confirmed. It was very hard at first when we got the news but then as a mother I knew I had to dry my tears and be there and give my daughter the help and supoort that she needed in order to grow and be able to do whatever she wants. The doctors told us that she would not be able to crawl or anything until at least two-years-old if ever. Well Aleia is 16 months old and she is crawling everywhere and is almost walking. She is the cutiest little blonde-haired, blue-eyed, loveable and out-of-this-world little girl. I would not change her for the world. This is Aleia's story in a nutshell.
