It's Okay to be Different read by Cody Gates
It's Okay to be Different read by Cody Gates

Freshman Cody Gates reads Todd Parr's "It's Okay to Be Different." This remarkable moment was part of Raymond S. Kellis High School's participation in the "Spread the Word to End the Word" campaign. Our school is a model for tolerance and understanding, especially when it comes to our special needs population! Mr. Parr's book is so simple, yet so profound. I hope you enjoy Mr. Southwick's video of Cody. Mr. Parr's book is published by Little, Brown & Co. in Canada and the United States. For more information, please visit

My youngest sister was a great sister, a good friend, an Olympic Gold medal winner and was born with Downs. She was a pioneer, going out and doing her best at what ever life had to offer. She worked at McDonald's and earned her High School Diploma.
