Buddy Walk® Webinar Series

Based on the success of the virtual Buddy Walk® Conference, we will be holding a series of webinars for registered Walk organizers over the coming months.  Like the Buddy Walk® Conference, the webinars will be recorded and organizers will be able to access the sessions at their convenience. Webinars include:

An Overview on Buddy Walk® National Partner BandAbout and their Fundraising Opportunity For Walk

Our first Buddy Walk® webinar took place on Thursday, May 30th at 1PM EST and was an introduction of our newest National Partners, BandAbout. BandAbout makes canvas bracelets that can be customized with photos and text,  allowing Buddy Walk® participants to create bracelets featuring their loved one with Down syndrome. Under our new Buddy Walk® program, if a Walk is interested, a custom store will be created for you and your organization will receive a $2 donation for each $5 bracelet purchased.

Buddy Walk® and the Media: How to Reach Your Audience through Traditional and Social Media Outlets

Our June webinar will take place on Wednesday, June 19 at 1PM EST and will be led by Julie Cevallos, NDSS VP of Marketing and PR and Jordana Stern, Communications and Social Media Manager.  This session will cover ways to effectively reach out to your local media and promote your Walk online using the tools provided by NDSS and the various types of social media.

Making the Most of your teams and team captains

Our July webinar will be held on Tuesday, July 16 at 1PM EST and will be led by Abbey Slee of the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio.

Your teams and team captains are the backbone to your walk. You need them to have a successful, growing Buddy Walk®. We will be talking about how to make the most of them by providing them resources for fundraising, communicating important information to them, having something for them to work towards, getting them involved before, during, and after the walk, and most importantly recognizing them and thanking them! Find new ways each year to recognize them and show them that they are important!

facebook tips and tricks

Join us on Thursday, August 22 at 1 PM EST as social media guru (and Chicagoland Buddy Walk® organizer) Jennifer Paganessi shares her top tips to help you promote your Buddy Walk® using facebook and other types of social media.

Our September session will be scheduled soon!
