2014 Buddy Walk® Webinar Series

Based on the success of the 2013 Buddy Walk® Webinar Series, we will again be holding a series of webinars for registered Walk organizers over the coming months.  With two different topics offered each month, we look forward to providing organizers with additional resources and knowledge to help grow their events and impact in their communities. Each of the sessions will be recorded and organizers will be able to access them at their convenience.

An Overview on Buddy Walk® Preferred Promotional Items Vendor, Turnkey Promotions, and their Incentive and Fundraiser Recognition Program

Our first Buddy Walk® webinar will be taking place on Tuesday, May 13 at 1:00 PM EST and will be led by Katrina VanHuss, CEO of Turnkey Promotions. 
Learn how other nonprofits experience up to 30% increases in fundraising. Proven to raise money and increase awareness, NDSS has subsidized a participant recognition program available to your event used by the likes of Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, American Lung Association, Special Olympics and many more.

Mobile fundraising and the BUDDY WALK®

Our second May webinar will be held on Friday, May 23th at 1:00 PM EST.  Mary Minno, VP of Partnerships, will discuss their industry leading mobile fundraising technology that can maximize contributions while enhancing the donor experience using QR codes created by Paystik and/or the Paystik Swipe, which allows you to process credit card transactions through your phone.

SElf-advocates and the Buddy Walk®

Join us on Monday, June 16 at 1:00 PM to hear Colleen Endres of the Massachussets Down Syndrome Congress share her experiences with their Advocates in Motion (AIM) program. Empower and engage teens and adults with Down syndrome and maximize their potential to lead full and meaningful lives by involving self-advocates in your Buddy Walk® Program! This webinar will cover a variety of ways in which the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress (MDSC) integrates self-advocates into their Buddy Walk® Program. Helpful tools will be shared so that you can strengthen self-advocate participation in your next Buddy Walk®!

BUDDY WALK® AND THE MEDIA: HOW TO REACH YOUR AUDIENCE THROUGH TRADITIONAL AND SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLETS 

Join us on Tuesday, July 22 at 1PM EST to hear Mark Priceman, NDSS VP of Marketing and PR and Kristie Hagen, Communications and Social Media Manager discuss Buddy Walk® and the Media.  This session will cover ways to effectively reach out to your local media and promote your Walk online using the tools provided by NDSS and the various types of social media.

how to benchmark your Buddy Walk® for Increased Success 

Jennie Ponder and Cheriann Cain from the Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville will lead an informative session on the importance of using reference data from previous Walks to gauge your year-to-year performance as well as give ways to jumpstart additional registration and fundraising activities from your constituents.
