Increasing Opportunities for Adults with Down Syndrome

NDSS recognizes that after high school, and even postsecondary education, the opportunities for adults with Down syndrome are limited. NDSS has always focused on creating opportunities for adults with Down syndrome through federal legislation, programs, and other key initiatives.

Transition Toward Excellence in Achievement and Mobility (TEAM) Act

During the 112th Congress, the Transition Toward Excellence in Achievement and Mobility Act (TEAM Act -HR 602,603,604) was introduced as a package of three bills by Reps. Gregg Harper (R-MS) and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) in February 2011. This disability omnibus is intended to improve the transition of youth with significant disabilities into integrated and competitive employment, supported employment, training, career prep and post-secondary education.
