Economic Self-Sufficiency

Featured ImagePeople with Down syndrome face many challenges in gaining economic self-sufficiency. NDSS advocates break down barriers and to develop financial planning opportunities for people with Down syndrome and their families.

  1. Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act

    In December 2014, the landmark Stephen Beck Jr. Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act became law allowing people with disabilities to open tax-free savings accounts that do not jeopardize eligibility for critical government supports.

  2. Financial Empowerment

    NDSS supports laws and policies that promote financial empowerment for people with Down syndrome.
