It’s Summer Time

Ever since I was little my parents and family have been taking me to the beach. First my family and myself lived in Massapequa, New York, out in Long Island but through the years we lived in Point Lookout. I grew up with a lot of friends in our town and community, especially going to our local beach. We’d have cookouts, concerts, and many more events. This column is about the inclusion of young adults and children with Down syndrome. Every time I’m at the beach it’s really great to see them…
especially babies with Down syndrome - it’s so cute seeing them playing in the sand and putting their feet in the water. I’m not trying to concentrate on myself because it’s all about the sons, daughters, nephews, nieces, and relatives with disabilities learning about family fun and inclusion. I went through it the same way! Enjoy your summer!
