NDSS Celebrates the 21st by Highlighting Programs

Down syndrome occurs when an individual has a full or partial extra copy of chromosome 21 and for that reason, we love to celebrate the number “21”! World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated on March 21, we fundraise with Team NDSS21 and now, NDSS will be doing something special on the 21st of every month.

Each month on the 21st, NDSS will highlight one of our programs and why it is important to the Down syndrome community. Every donation made on the 21st of the month will go directly to supporting the program being celebrated! You could even consider donating $21 monthly through a recurring donation that can be processed every month on the 21st, to continually support NDSS' mission to be the national advocate for the value, acceptance and inclusion of all people with Down syndrome.

On May 21, we will be celebrating the NDSS DS-Ambassador program! NDSS DS-Ambassadors are volunteer advocates of all abilities committed to taking part in the democratic process and serving as liaisons between NDSS and their Congressional Delegations.  The overarching goal of the NDSS DS-Ambassador program is to build long-lasting relationships with US Senators and US Representatives to continually raise awareness, educate and advocate for public policy solutions that benefit the Down syndrome community at the federal level.
